Summer Reading
June 18 Summer reading update: We are having so much fun!! I’ll post the kids recommendations below. We’re also going through a major reread of the Wings of Fire series. DZ started it and is making his way steadily through, and still crying over Darkstalker while saying it’s his fav. Maia is reading them in REVERSE order because she’s Maia. And Serenity just picks up whichever one the other kids leave lying around
Donovan LOVES:
Black Brother Black Brother. (He moved it to my pile, I have to read it )
Becoming Muhammad Ali. (He’s liking sports stories, he found a bunch he requested next)
The Great Pet Heist (This one he passed to Maia and she recommends it also! He pulled an All-nighter to finish it )
Maia still loves sleeping with her books. As many as possible.

June 20 My computer is protesting the 72 tabs I have open over 14 windows and won’t open another word document. I guess I need a different research plan
July 19
Teacher certification testing finally came back, and I passed!! Yippee!!!
And I turned in my Educational Research Proposal last night! I was nervous about the class but now I absolutely love my topic and wish I were doing it in real life. My proposal is about evaluating classroom libraries to foster diversity and inclusion. Any of my teacher friends want me to catalogue your classroom library books? . I’ve got a 27 page proposal all about how to do it
Maia’s teacher read the Cavern of Clues at her Spelunking Camp, and she begged me to get all these books from the library! They are MATH choose your own adventure books! So awesome!!
June 12th: Maia found Saniyah, Annie and Flint in her new books!! Couldn’t wait long enough to take them to a chair to read them
