March 2020
Tina came to visit to help us learn how to take care of Donovan’s diabetes! She helped us buy and attach his first Dexcom, which is absolutely essential! We had a wonderful visit! She played and read with the kids daily, and we took her to see the Gathering Place! Sooo many great pictures!
Ann and John came to visit for Spring Break, just before social distancing canceled flights! They made it here and back home without catching the coronavirus, and we had a blast! They went on walks with the kids every day, played tons of cards, played games, built Legos, and made yummy food! Donovan learned bridge, Maia got to make more canelle boula for us, and we loved every minute. They got Donovan a bridge book and he’s even learning to bid! So much fun!!! Ann played badminton with him in the yard, and they all went for walks together.
Canelle Boula! YUM!!!

Escape Room
Donovan is the badminton king! He begged me to put it up and then he’s played with it every clear day. We’ve played together a ton! He’s getting good enough to return lots of hits. He and Eric got up to 121 in a row! He and I haven’t gotten that high but we are playing a lot =)
He’s had several more cool projects in class, which he loves! He’s such a responsible guy, he works on his projects without being nagged, and makes good plans to get the work done with reasonable goals every day. I especially loved his Pan project. He researched the Greek God Pan and created a poster to go with it. He cut out a hole for his face so that when he presented it the poster could be his costume. He even attached a little panpipe we had in our music tub! He did a great job with his presentation, even though he had trouble with the new placement of his Dexcom that morning. It was hurting, but he managed to walk in because he really wanted to see everyone present. And he ended up presenting and Mrs. Johnson said he did a wonderful job!
Bridge!
Random 100 degree day = Sprinkler Fun
At the beginning of quarantine our neighborhood did a bear hunt. Mostly people put stuffed animals in their window or colored pictures of bears, but I got out our polar bears =)
I was talking to the older kids about things they might like to do while we are having distance learning, and I brought up making dioramas for books they read. Maia asked what a diorama is and she immediately had to make one! I especially love it because it has a little deer in it, which was her favorite story she wrote for Creative Producers. We can still have Creative Producers at home!
Perler bead Rainbow Fox!!! This turned out amazing and it was all her!
Epic perler bead day! He sent perler beads to all his classmates for his first round of pen pal letters!!
Unicorn day! He woke up right at 100, a great target blood glucose number!
Cute pic of us before Eric cut off his beard =)
Geography class =)
Maia loves to play Legendary with Daddy!
Lego Leprechaun traps! All the kids made them! So much fun!
Maia built this Elsa lego set!
Donovan finally finished his Lego chess set from Christmas!
Reading Rescue Princesses!
Serenity and I did an Epic closet reorganization and cleaning. It was actually a lot of fun for both of us! She found lots of cute Raegan clothes that fit her now =)
We love to leave sidewalk chalk messages in quarantine!
We’ve been setting up different themes in the game room since the Martins moved out. Sibling tent sleepover!
