Serenity's Summer Fun

Summer Reading Program: Serenity reads every day, but this year she only wrote down enough books to get the medal, she didn’t want the toy prize.  She read a lot of mythology this summer.  She loves world mythology, and she read Norse Mythology, Arabic Mythology, Greek, and Russian Mythology.  She also read a really exciting series called Keeper of the Lost Cities.  I read it too, and I had to finish the whole thing!  She got Rapunzel and the Lost Lagoon on the cruise, and she read The Rose Legacy, by Jessica Day George.  I had to read that one too.  It’s so much fun!!!

Camp Incredible: Each of the kids had two weeks of Camp Incredible, and we only had the first two weeks free so they all picked camps then.  Serenity chose a Pamper Me Pinterest camp, where they made all kinds of different pinterest crafts and spa stuff.  She had so much fun!  Several of her friends were in it.  She skipped one day so she could have a sleepover with Braley.  The next week she did a math camp.  She loves math!

Liz came to Tulsa just before we left for our trip.  Serenity was thrilled to get to see her!  They spent the day at the Gathering Place and just loved every minute together. 

We got several fun new outdoor things for the yard.  I bought a second hammock and new straps for the first one, so the kids can swing side by side in the hammocks.  One of our neighbors wanted to get rid of a trampoline, so they gave it to us!  They even drove it to our house.  We put it in the garage and the kids go out there all the time to use it!  Serenity’s new routine for the school year is to do some exercise in the morning to help her wake up, and jumping on the trampoline is just what the dr. ordered. 

Serenity got a cool craft set from Vanaema and Far Far for her birthday.  She has made tons of cool stuff, especially neat creatures from pipe cleaners, craft sticks and pom poms.  She also made some great crowns for her beloved stuffed animals.  She has shared a ton with her siblings too!

Serenity has started sleeping with ALL her stuffed animals! We even pushed her bed against the wall so they wouldn’t fall off at night =)

Serenity has let me do some fun stuff with her hair! Probably so I never make her cut it for not brushing it all week.

Serenity brings Snowy and Lyra everywhere these days, even to Florida!
