Maia's Superhero Birthday
Maia’s Wonder Woman Birthday
Maia knew for nearly an entire year that she wanted a Wonder Woman birthday! She adores her Wonder Woman costume and wears it all the time. She reads every Wonder Woman book she can find! She has several lego kids from the D.C. Superhero Girls sets. It’s amazing that she can already put together big kid lego sets, and she plays with them after they are built constantly. Anyway, I was very confident that the Wonder Woman party was a good idea!
She wanted to have a Superhero School, just like Superhero High from the Superhero Girls show. So we had a bounce house so they could practice flying skills, like Supergirl. We had a Lasso of Truth Ring toss game, and a Batarang frisbee toss game. Inside, we made Poison Ivy’s Ivy Climb lesson (climbing on the jungle gym), and sword practice with Katana. We taped balloons to the ceiling again and got out all of our foam sword collection since it was such a hit at previous parties.
For party favors I made a lot of Wonder Woman capes! I found this great font that’s called Themyscira, and it makes letters look like the Wonder Woman Logo. It was perfect, just what I was looking for! I made 18 aqua capes and ironed on golden monograms for all the kids that came. They were so cute together!!!
Maia was thrilled when her friends started arriving at her party! She ran and passed out capes. Serenity helped too! Maia wore her cape for the WHOLE party, bouncing in the bounce house, running around with all her friends. Bre and Charlie and Maia all wore Wonder Woman costumes. We tried to take lots of pictures of the Wonder Women. SO cute!!!
After everyone arrived, Serenity told all the kids that a terrible thing had happened. The Joker stole the birthday donuts! The only way to get him to tell the truth was to wrap him up in a Lasso of Truth! Then Eric appeared around the corner in full Joker makeup and green wig. He cackled maniacally and ran off through our room and all the kids took off in pursuit! They chased him around the house back to the living room where they managed to wrap him up with golden lassos (streamers) He finally admitted the donuts were in the mud room. It was a blast! The kids loved the donuts.
Before everyone left we did some fishing! It was so much fun that Ann and John were here for the party. Fishing is a tradition from Eric’s childhood and it was even more special to have them here for it. Everyone loves fishing!
Maia made sure to get everyone their cape! I love the Wonder Woman Themyscira font I found!

Wonder Women!
Ivy called on the Superheroes to rescue the donuts from the Joker!
They covered him in golden lassos to make him confess where he hid the donuts (Gold crepe paper)
