Girl Scouts in October =)
Girl Scouts has been busy and fun this month! The Juniors earned their Detective badge and worked on their Trail Adventure badge. They made code wheels, did memory challenges, and described suspects to sketch artists. They also did fingerprint art! At their second October meeting they started the drawing badge. We had one last meeting with beautiful weather, so we spent it in the butterfly garden drawing. I brought pastels, markers, colored pencils, charcoal and drawing pencils and they tried to draw the same thing several times in different mediums. Serenity, Lillyan, Lorelai, Anika and Kayla also came and helped at the Daisy Scout meetings. The little girls earned their Outdoor Artist badge. They made Nature Mandalas one week and Rainbow ribbon maracas the next. They danced and sang a little bit outside with them but it was pretty chilly that day so they headed back inside quickly! They also earned several petals! Maia and some of her Daisy Friends went to Hour of Code and earned a special badge for that.
Code Wheels!
Nature Mandalas!
Bookmarks! We made these for the Considerate and Caring petal, and gave them to people they thought could use a bookmark. Maia used all the leftovers to make gifts for people!
Elle missed our meeting so she came over to play with the nature mandala supplies. I love how they turned it into a tree, complete with a bird and nest!
Rainbow Maracas! They are so much fun! The rice is leftover from Maia’s winter woodland birthday party. =) We dyed it together!
Serenity leading the Girl Scout law =)
We did a spooky activity for our Courageous and Strong petal day. They touched things like “ghost poop” “Frankenstein parts” and “Dracula teeth.” (cotton balls, nuts and bolts, and candy corn.) They LOVED it!
