Serenity in September and October

Serenity in September:

Serenity and Liz asked for a Harry Potter Sleepover! Of course, I was thrilled =) We turned the lego room into Hogwarts with castle fabric, robes, wands, and classes. We had Care of Magical creatures, the Owlery, Tranfiguration (lego challenges) Hogwarts, a History (more lego challenges). We also had potions class downstairs, with magic milk experiments. It was a blast! Serenity loves Liz so much, they have so much fun together!

All the kids got to go to Build a Bear. I realized Maia had never been, and I thought she’d enjoy it, but all three kids loved it and had a blast. Serenity made a bunny and got it an outfit to match hers. She ended up spending the gift card she got from Papa for kiddlestix in the summer and buying two more outfits. They fit her American Girl doll, but she was even more excited that it fit the bunny.

Girl Scouts has been fun this fall. We got to go to Canoe Rendezvous which all the girls loved. I really really wanted to go too. Eric may even get canoe certified so we can plan our own canoe trips. The girls also worked on their Inventor badge. I brought the tub I had filled with random recyclables and art supplies and had a bunch of prompts to inspire them to invent things. They loved it so much they asked me to keep bringing back the inventor tub even after we finished the badge.

Serenity picked up my Nancy Drew books! She flew through four of them. It was SO exciting!

Serenity in October:

I finally got to see Serenity use the pogo stick at school! She is getting really good! Mrs. Poleman told me when she started she could only do two or three in a row, and she showed me 50 in a row! And she even tried some tricks where she turned the pogo stick as she jumped. Pretty cool.

Serenity is so thrilled that she gets to be Maia’s buddy! The first Wednesday of each month she gets to go have recess with her. Sometimes they read to their buddies too. They lucked out one day and EC happened to go to the book fair when Serenity’s class was in the library and she got to help her with her wish list! Such happy sisters!

Serenity and I had a fun outing together =) We went on a pokewalk in Woodward park, and after that her shoes were wet so we went shopping at Utica Square and out to lunch! It was so randomly fun and fabulous! =)
