All three kids are old enough for actual Legos!  Today was SO much fun!  I bought a lego train set just after Christmas last year and we finally got to put it together!  This was after the kids did their daily Lego advent calendar, and before we put together my Santa’s Workshop set.    =)  Even Maia can manipulate the big girl legos now and she loves playing with the sets more than any of them. Maia got the Lego City advent calendar this year.  Donovan and Serenity got a jungle lego set that we divided up into sets.  DZ was a little sad that he wouldn’t have a punch out box though.  Buyers remorse.  But I made a punch out box to hold the legos and he seems really happy with it now.   I also got a Lego Duplo Santa with sleigh.  I bought that a long time ago too, before I knew Maia would be able to do regular legos, but we played with Duplos for hours on Friday so I’m sure we’ll still get plenty of fun out of the Santa duplos.  And it will be in my Christmas collection forever =)  The train is a great set!  Donovan did the engine, Maia and Eric did the coal car, Serenity did the car that held the Christmas tree and part of the caboose, which I finished.  Fun fun!

After all the lego fun, Serenity had theater class and Eric was in a Destiny tournament.  I’d forgotten all of this when I planned on a lazy day of Legos at home, but it ended up being an absolutely great day anyway.  The Riverwalk had a Grinchmas day, with a reading of the Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Christmas music, and lots of other fun stuff.  We ate Andolini’s, got kettle corn, and listened to Cindy Lou Who sing Where Are You Christmas, which is one of my favorite songs.  The Grinch did a really good job reading the book, and the kids were all excited!  We even watched the Jim Carrey movie version when we went home!  The kids even liked it, which was completely astonishing.  DZ was a little freaked out by parts, but even he said he liked it at the end.
