Oct 30 Wainright Reunion

We hosted a Wainright Reunion at our house this summer! We had SUCH a good time. It's so nice to have a big family event where everyone truly enjoyed each other! During the week there was almost always a game going on. We played TONS of games: cards (O'Hell, Pitch, Hearts, Spades, Euchre), board games (Splendor, Pandemic, Clue, Battleship, Power Grid, Evolution, and more), croquet, badminton. It was so much fun! During the week we had a number of outings around Tulsa: Mini-golf, Escape Tulsa, Philbrook Art Museum, Jenks Aquarium, and Main Event). The week concluded with an amazing tournament (The Wainright Olympics) with games meticulously organized by John, Eric, and Ann. John even had prizes, gold coins instead of gold medals.

Ann created a master plan for the food that worked out perfectly. We tried some Tulsa restaurants, had a nice meal at our neighborhood clubhouse with ham from the Hamlet, and enjoyed some favorite family recipes like Tina's Pasta Salad at home. Amy Wainright baked yummy cinnamon rolls and some delicious cookies.

The kids had a blast playing with their cousin Kimber, and baby Holland was adorable!

I finally got to go to an escape room! Eric had gone with my family several times but I was always watching kids. It was AWESOME! We missed a few clues but all the things we figured out left me feeling excited and accomplished =) I want to go again!

The aquarium has improved so much! Maia really wanted to see a pufferfish. I had no idea if there even was a pufferfish at the aquarium, but there was, and one of the docents told us he often hangs out by the submarine viewpoint. It's a little hard to recognize him as he doesn't puff out unless he feels threatened, and he's much bigger than you'd expect. Well, while we were in the submarine, he swam right by us! Maia was thrilled! Everyone loved feeding the adorable turtles too. Such fun!
