December 24th: Christmas Eve! Nativity Set =) Today’s advent activity was a little Nativity set that I printed off the internet, cut out and then Eric helped me assemble them into little stand up dolls. I put baby Jesus into the advent calendar and Serenity got to play with the whole set! She loved putting the shepherd with the sheep and the baby with his Mama. It was fun to talk about the Christmas story with her, she remembers so much more than last year.
We planned to have a nice family meal together on Christmas Eve, since we’d be at Mom’s for most of Christmas Day. We picked simple things, meatballs, mashed potatoes, green beans and tarts. And then it turned even better because Mom, Alex, Alli and Don joined us for food and games! We played Mexican Train and lots of Shadows over Camelot after J and Tiffany joined us. It was a blast! Serenity opened presents from Grandma, and was very focused on her new clock shape sorter and cute red kitchen ware.
Later in the day we skyped with Ann and John and all got to enjoy Serenity opening yet more presents. She got a fun bath toy, some Dora books, a lacing game, and one of her favorite library books, Little Pea! I explained to her that Christmas was the next day, so she eagerly got into her Santa Monkey pajamas and went right to sleep with her girl bed.
