December 23rd: Cookie Day! And Christmas with PapaToday, I actually accomplished every single thing on my list! It was amazing! Serenity and I made cut out cookies for our advent calendar activity. It was so much fun this year as she was able to participate with every step! She could roll dough, use the cutters, and even transfer them to the cookie sheet. It’s amazing how much she’s grown in a year =) This year we even attempted icing, instead of the simpler sprinkles. She wanted yellow cookies, which was a surprise to me as I expected pink. =) They are very tasty, with a little almond in the icing! I also made coconut and banana pies for dinner with Dad, and Sand Tarts for Saturday! Serenity was a big help with the baking.
Around five when J and Tiffany got into town, we all headed to Dad’s house to celebrate Christmas! Dad made his super yummy soup (at least the spicy pot was yummy, Eric assures me that the boring pot is yummy too =) We enjoyed visiting with J and Tiffany and then we opened presents! There were lots of fun gifts from Dad, including useful tools, an awesome book light for me, puzzles, coins, and a digital Christmas ornament! Serenity LOVES her new little alligator that Papa got her, and kept saying she needed to take it home with her. In the blue car, in case there was some question about how we got here. I had to keep assuring her that we meant to take all her new toys with us when we left. =) She’s sleeping with her new bumble bee pillow pet too =) J and Tiffany really hit it out of the park with their presents. They got her a super soft polar bear, a Tinkerbell costume (which she wanted to put on immediately) and Jason BUILT her a rocking horse! It is spectacular! And I was just thinking that we hadn’t ever gotten Serenity any kind of rocking toy. It is so great! Eric is trying to get Serenity to name it Jiff, after J and Tiff =)
