December 8th: Kringleland Today we took the kids to try Kringle Land at the Promenade Mall. It was fun! A little pricey for 10 to 15 minutes, but Maia pronounced it “so’mazing!” and Serenity giggled a lot so it was worth it. I think Donovan was a little creeped out by the animatronic figures, but he had fun too. There’s a blizzard at one point that everyone had a blast with. And everyone thought it was hilarious when they played Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Serenity started pointing at Eric to show even more proof that his imaginary reindeer friend, Azakvkvk is not more famous than Rudolph. Or even Sven.
After the walk through Kringle Land, Eric offered to take any of the kids Christmas shopping. Donovan took him up on the offer, and he bought very thoughtful presents for Maia and me. He’d already chosen things for Serenity and Maia. And then he wrapped his gifts himself! They are way cute and at least as nice as I would have done them. LOVE!!!
While he was shopping, Serenity and Maia waved to Santa. There was no line so we wandered over to say hello. I had no idea how this would go, because I’ve never taken any of them to sit on Santa’s lap before. But Maia hugged him 3 TIMES!!! And then sat at his feet and just watched as Serenity sat on his lap. She asked for a book from a series she likes, and when Santa asked what else she would like she pointed at Maia and said “for her to have a Merry Christmas.” Awwwww.
After dinner at IHOP, Serenity and I went to get her hair cut. It was long enough to donate again! She was thrilled with the cut and kept bopping her head around. It is very cute! We probably should have trimmed it a few times in the interim, because it looks just a lot healthier now.
I had a looooong list of things to get done today. Travel in December messes with my head. Honestly plenty of those things could have waited until I got back, but it’s on the list so it’s getting done. But there better be plenty of margaritas in Mexico.
