Hi.

Welcome!

Maia's Birthday Party

Maia’s birthday party!

Maia’s party went soooo well!  She loved everything!  I kept it very casual, since she sometimes doesn’t want to be told to do something.  My inspiration was her music class, which is her favorite activity, and Pete the Cat, which is one of her favorite series.  She can even recite Pete the Cat and his White Shoes.  She asks me to sing it to her when I put her to bed.  I love hearing her say “Groooovy” and “Rock and Roll!”

I made a Pete the Cat photobooth, and I think I managed to get pictures of nearly everyone!  I was surprised that Maia had SO much fun with it!  I bought some inflatable instruments, and she and Donovan ran around tossing them in the air and pretending to play them.  It was adorable!  She even wore the ENTIRE outfit I got for her!  I made her Pete the Cat shoes with sharpies, and she picked the colors.  She had a Pete the Cat shirt and a cute skirt to match.  She even wore the cat ears I made as a photobooth prop.  So fun!!!!  Barrett played guitar music on his Ipad so he and Carson could rock out with the inflatable guitars =)

I ordered shaky eggs, jingle bell bracelets, and I found cute little tambourines at Target.  We had plenty of other instruments for the kids to play with, and Dad made two amazing xylophones!  I pulled out the scarves tub too, and Serenity danced to the music for a long time!  I played a bunch of Laurie Berkner music during the party, and Maia loved playing with different instruments and singing along.

We had Pete the Cat donuts, and a cereal bar.  I had bowls of marshmallows, strawberries, blueberries and chocolate to mirror when Pete the Cat steps in strawberries, blueberries, and mud in his white shoes.  Plus, those are some of Maia’s favorite treats, so it was perfect!  We didn’t sing Happy Birthday, as  Maia said “no thank you” when I asked if we could, but there was a Happy  Birthday song on the Laurie Berkner cd that she enjoyed.

I made a batch of blue and red playdoh, and by the end of the day it had turned completely gray from so much mixing.  She loves playdoh, but I wasn’t expecting her to use it that much!  She got a new play-doh animal cutters and rollers from Sophia, and it was such fun!

Maia and Sophia played so well together! =)

I decided to have Maia's birthday early this year, instead of a little late.  I don't want it to get lost in the busyness of Christmas and all the things we do in December.  So early it is!

December 1st: Post Office

Maia in November!
