December 29th: Cleaning and a Scavenger Hunt Today I rolled the dice (because that's how I motivate myself to get stuff done) and it said it was time to clean the kitchen. Really cleaning the kitchen means I have to finish up all the projects and activities I leave strewn around the counters. So I finally tied ribbons onto the salt dough ornaments and got them on the trees, and I started stiffening lace for a project for Maia's party. Serenity got to rinse off her crystals and view the finished project, which was a blast! And I finally used the super glue to put together Eric's trophy. His dad had taken apart all the trophies he didn't want to save and he gave me all the plates that said what they are for, plus one baseball guy and one chess piece topper. I combined them all into one trophy. The kids hid it and we made a scavenger hunt for Daddy to find it, which he said was the best ever. It was a serious challenge because the kids wrote or drew them themselves. Except that they couldn't resist giving hints on a few =) Besides that we just played and had a relaxing day at home. We got baths, played Forbidden Desert, and I sorted out some more stuff to donate. Finally getting rid of the pumping stuff I hardly used! Means my pantry is beautiful again, as it had been a little overfull with the tub of bottles etc.
