December 21st: Christmas with Mom!
Today was full of family fun! I went over to Dad's to pick up the kids from their sleepover with Papa and Braley. Serenity had a wonderful time, DZ wasn't quite so sure at first. Although later in the day he asked to do it again so I guess it was mostly fun! =) Then we headed over to Jen's house. All my brothers and sisters and their families were there! We were only missing Madi. Even Alex came from China! Such a wonderful holiday! A lot of my evening was spent following Maia around, as she is such a busy bee these days! There were many willing hands that took turns following her in circles around the house and up the stairs, but I don't think she ever just wanted to sit when she was awake!
Serenity and DZ were in heaven. I hardly saw Serenity, she was so busy playing with her cousins. She played Capture the Flag (although I'm sure it was a challenge for her, losing is not her thing, it was great anyway!) She visited Grandma's new biewer puppy a lot too. Donovan played lots of legos, especially with Braley. They were building houses and she was the Mom and he was the Dad. I was the sister when I checked on them. Donovan is a little uncertain about all the dogs, and he was sleepy from staying up late the night before, so he was a little big clingier than normal.
We enjoyed Chipotle for lunch and TONS of desserts fixed by my sister. All our traditional favorites, chocolate sheet cake, orange date cake, and she also made two cheesecakes and GF cupcakes! Mary brought delicious cookies that were DZ's favorite thing, and I brought the sand tarts. The sand tarts were traumatizing to my family though because I was out of red food coloring... instead of pink they were purple! I may never hear the end of it ;)
Eric got to teach everyone to play seven wonders. He and Serenity are actually still at Jen's playing! I'm here attempting to get people to sleep. I may have finally succeeded with Maia, but DZ is still having his own personal movie night =)
