Serenity meets me at the curb for school pick up every day with a big smile and stories about her day. Usually she's telling me about a playdate that she's planning with various friends at school. One day though, she had her hand carefully cupped and she told me she'd show me after she got in the car. I figured she'd picked a flower or some other treasure from nature. Well, it was from nature all right, it was a worm! I grabbed her right back out of the car and walked over to the nearest grass. Her teacher, Mrs. Foster, and I explained to her that the worm would dry out and die on the drive home. Serenity reluctantly relinquished her treasure. I shut her into the car, and then Mrs. Foster and I dissolved into laughter. =)

Serenity lost her first tooth today! So exciting! I wondered if I would freak out at this sign that my daughter is growing up, but I was just happy and excited, surprisingly enough. When she climbed in the chair to snuggle with Maia and me in the morning, I noticed the gap in her smile. It had fallen out while she slept, but we were able to find it. It's currently under her princess pillow, waiting on the tooth fairy. She is very excited, and told me she might not go to sleep tonight so she can see the tooth fairy.
Today was also the day that we brought treats for her birthday to school! I stayed up late last night making little flags that said Happy Birthday Serenity to put into her birthday donuts. She decided on strawberry donuts for her treat. It was wonderful to get to sit with her during lunch and see her with her friends. She and Lorelai still seem to love each other, and Wren asked for a play date =) Eric, Donovan and Maia all came to lunch too!
She's had a pretty fabulous month at school. They had art week, where they studied different artists each day, like "Action Jackson" Pollock and "Dot Dot Seurat." They did art projects in each of the artists style, and I think it was one of Serenity's favorite things from the whole year!!! And this week they are making Egyptian pottery... and getting ready for all the end of school fun next week!
Some other fun things that happened this month... Serenity got a game on the X-box. Uncle Eddie sent her a bright pink controller, so she needed a fun game to go with it =) It's called Kingdom for Keflings, and she was totally hooked. You play a giant that's helping little keflings build a civilization for themselves. You mine, cut down trees, collect crystals, and turn those into various buildings and finally a castle. She loves it, and I got sucked in to making my own kingdom as well. She also played a lot of Heartstone with Eric.
She adores the swing set Papa and I built, and she can now swing for hours all by herself. She doesn't need pushes to get started or help to keep going!
