It's after bedtime, and I can hear the kids giggling together upstairs. =) I just love them. Yesterday, they were playing "buddies." I could hear them saying back and forth "you're my buddy! You're my best buddy!" Today, Serenity showed me how they read the Halloween costume magazine together, and they'd each pick something on each page to be. When Donovan would pick an animal, Serenity would say, "I buyed you from the pet store and I'm going to keep you forever!" And they'd seal that promise with a BIG hug. Too cute. Best friends =)

Serenity still loves to talk in code, riddles and guessing games. Her current favorite is to eliminate the first letter from a word and see if we can figure out her answer. I really should teach her pig latin I guess.
She came up with her own plan for Halloween this year. I thought about making her a My Little Pony costume, and then she said she wanted to be a flower. She had it all figured out, as we had a daisy petal headband, which would be perfect with her green dress for a stem and brown leggings and brown boots for roots. She never wavered on that and wore that costume to the Halloween Carnival. She did end up wanting a different costume for Halloween itself, so I was glad I went ahead and made fleece pony hats to try and get rid of some of my fleece stash. She went as Twilight Sparkle, with a tail and a cutie mark on her hip, just like on the show. I offered to put a cutie mark on the hat, but only the hip would do. I think she looks really tall in these purple pants!!!
She loves on her baby sister a lot these days. She'll pat my tummy, say Hi BBSS (baby sister), and often poke my tummy if her sister doesn't respond to her affection quickly enough.
We enjoyed the Fair with Grandma. Serenity loved riding the horse, and the petting zoo. We got to pet baby deer and a wallaby! We also watched the dog show which was pretty amazing. Donovan watched it with an open mouth and clapped enthusiastically for the awesome puppies.
Jennifer and I were in charge of the book fair, and this fall the theme was Reading Oasis. So we did all things Egypt. I made a cardboard camel and a couple of obelisks, and we draped some fabric to make the back of the bookstore look like a tent. Serenity took part in the dress up days, which was a lot of fun! I think she was a really cute archaeologist, and she insisted on having tools in her pouch. (A compass, binoculars, and shovel.) She had a collar and white dress for Egyptian Royalty day, and she dressed up like a cat for Egyptian goddess day. And we made a t-shirt for the contest on Friday. I was really proud of her shirt. She drew a pyramid and actually drew bricks all over the whole thing. Then she drew a princess, and a cat, jewels, hieroglyphs (which are hard to see as she put them on the pyramid.) She even drew the Nile! She spent a long time on the shirt and drew actual things, which is a new skill for her. We do lots of crafts, coloring, and making things, but drawing is new and fun!
We went to the zoo for Family Fun, and once as a family. It was a lot of fun to get to see how she plays with some of the girls from school. It was also nice that she made sure to include Donovan in those games. She always points him out and introduces him every where she goes.
