On her blog my friend Abbey today had written something called "Love Thursday" Apparently it's something of a blogging tradition she came across on the web, where you write about something you love each Thursday. She thought it was a great idea, and so do I!!! Her first entry was about popcorn, so I was inspired to write about something I love, ice cream. Loving ice cream is something of a genetic quirk in my family. We all REALLY love ice cream. We trace it back to our grandmother, Mimi, who taught us all that dessert could be enjoyed first, and that there is always room for ice cream =) Here's a scrapbook page I made celebrating ice cream. Mimi took us to this great cafe where they make old fashioned strawberry ice cream sodas. Yum!!! Alli and I both enjoyed it a lot! Next to Mimi, KaLynn is probably the next great ice-cream lover. She loves any kind of ice cream and it's always the treat she loves most. But my niece Raegan is destined to give her a run for her money. When I was in Tulsa last, I got a large yogurt from TCBYs, and she ate half of mine, and then proceeded to share her mother's chocolate ice cream! And with every bite was the biggest smile and this mischievous little grin that said, "I wonder how much more ice cream I can con my aunt out of?" It worked every time =)   Here in California my current favorite is Yogurtland! They even have a no sugar added kind that works for my diet. I often dream of driving to Cupertino just to get it. In fact, if you love me, and happen to be in Cupertino on your way to my house, you could pick me up whatever flavor of the day is no sugar added. I've tried their boysenberry and their mint milk chocolate, and both were amazing!!! So here's my first entry for LOVE Thursday. I will try to keep it up! |
