Hi.

Welcome!

Texas

I spent a delightful three weeks in Texas, alternately hanging out with Mimi and with Don, Laura, Alex and Allison. The first week I was there I did a lot of reading because I was a little sick. Being at Don's house is like living at the library for me though, because all my favorite series were discovered by him. Case in point, the Terry Goodkind books. Allison and I had a good time that week while Alex was at band camp. We went to visit Mimi for a weekend and did some good shopping. Shopping with Mimi is always great because she helps you find the best clothes. I am never so successful at finding cute clothes as when I go with Mimi. It was Alli's first big Mimi shopping trip, and we had a blast!

The next week I had both Alex and Alli while Don and Laura were working. I took Alex to his soccer games, both of them to the mall, and all over town. We went go-karting, mini-golfing, and played ski-ball. I used to be really good at ski-ball when I was little, and I really liked getting back into it. I bet the kids thought I was crazy but oh well. =) We saw fireworks out at the town square on the Fourth.

The third week Alex and I stayed with Mimi. We played lots of neopets. I get kidded a lot for addicting their children to neopets. Aunt Jan and I started a new project. Aunt Jan is a kindred spirit. We always have fun with our art projects. This time, we sat watching "just one more show" on HGTV for several hours, and they did two tables by breaking up tiles and making mosaics out of them. So we did it! It was fun, but I definitely learned to break them into big pieces. Otherwise it's too hard to grout.

Eric came up the last weekend to attend Alli's rock climbing birthday. He overcame his fear of heights, and climbed the wall a dozen times!
