| We attended so many fun and creative parties this year, they needed their own section! 1.) Pinata party! Yes, Pinatas are still fun as adults! For Marilyn's birthday, she had a cute winnie the pooh pinata. We took turns trying to hit it, with Marilyn going between each person, since it was her birthday. The funniest part was that after being spun around, she always ran into the same bush! She did manage to hit the pinata too though =) Eric was appalled that after scrambling to get the candy, Marilyn divided it fairly and evenly. 2.) Peanuts party! For Patricia's birthday, Jack came up with a Peanuts theme. Everyone dressed as one of the Peanuts characters. Chrissie got Lucy, which she thought was ironic, since she was the only person who didn't have naturally black hair. So she dyed her hair black, and tried to curl it like lucy's, even sleeping in curlers, but her hair was too long and heavy to hold the fifties style curls. It still looked wavy and fun. Eric was Schroeder. We made him a cardboard piano, and put Chrissie's ipod inside, filled with classical music. 3.) Luau! Andrew and Bobby got a Luau for their birthdays. Chrissie's favorite game that Marilyn planned was Telephone Charades. The way this works is that your team stands in a line, facing away from the person acting. One person at a time takes turns acting out something (like a farmer, or Superman, or any charades thing) and the last person in line has to guess. Then going back down the line, you can see if people can get it, and when the charade fell apart. 4.) Memorial Day! We had a barbecue and softball for Labor Day. We played volleyball too! It was a really fun day at the park. 5.) Amazing Race! For Jack's birthday Patricia planned a crazy scavenger hunt at the Santa Cruz boardwalk. We had to try and figure out really tough clues, and take lots of crazy pictures. It was fun! We spent the whole weekend in Santa Cruz, playing games, tennis, return of heroes, password, charoodles, san juan, catchphrase, and going out to eat, and hanging out.
