Serenity’s first Christmas was so wonderful! She really loved all the pretty lights and decorations in the house, especially the glass music box Mimi gave me a few years ago. Playing with the boxes was, of course, one of the best parts! She enjoyed the ribbons on her packages that Jen sent for several weeks before we opened them. We spread Christmas out over several days, figuring she could really only appreciate one or two new things at a time. We started with the gifts from Mimi and Grandma Diane. Mom got her this adorable soft doll with pink hair. It is too cute! We named her Cali for California Girl. The Yookidoo from Mimi was a big hit, especially with Daddy. It entertains him for hours =) It has ball slots that he can roll balls down. Oh yes, and Serenity is amused when Daddy plays with the balls. She does love to pick up the balls herself, and she likes to turn the little circle that’s filled with beads. It has a lot of things she can grow into, but her favorite toy (actually the favorite of all her Christmas things) is the set of keys that came with the Yookidoo. She loves shaking that and chewing on that.
      The next day we opened a few of the gifts we got her. I wrapped them without any tape so she could open them on her own! She did enjoy the wrapping paper, and got some of it in her mouth before I could distract her with the actual toy =) We gave her several books, a turtle that pops when you push it, and another ball toy that giggles and makes silly noises. She loves the books! I got another cloth book, Snowy Bear, which she can crinkle and chew on, and several plastic books that she can chew on and read in the tub.
    Eric gave me a beautiful locket bracelet. I gave him a LOT of new pajamas, including a Dr. Seuss and Mario one, and some Angel books. Serenity gave him a bouncy ball filled with glitter, and gave me an OOTS book. So much fun!
 We did our stockings Christmas morning before we left for Oklahoma. Serenity liked looking at her stocking. I think she was a little afraid of the lion puppet at first. She ignores it now, so I think she’s over the fear at least =) Pretty funny.
