Maia's 10th Birthday Update (SOOOOOO LATE)
I forgot Maia’s 10th birthday update! I can’t skip a year of cute Maia pictures though so lets try to catch up! And not forget next year =)
2022: Maia’s 9th birthday was a Zombie Dance Party! I can’t believe I made my kid a Zombie party but we actually all adore the Disney Zombie movies. We listen to the soundtracks constantly and have all actually watched the movies, which is rare! So we got a new spaceship flying saucer swing for Alien addison, had a bounce house to practice cheer moves, got hair color clips for Zombies, Werewolves, Aliens and Cheerleaders, and had the Prawn (zombie prawn) in the game room. It was a blast!
Maia got this model kit from Disney and built it the very day we got back, and keeps talking about getting the other kit she saw while we were there to build it too! She loved riding Space Mountain, and she loves building, so this is a perfect moment to remember =)
Maia and Amethyst, her puffskein. My little Slytherin baby. She has an amazing magical creatures collection and she loves the books so much! She’s reread them on her own a few times now.
December 2022: Maia rode this Hippogriff ride so many times she single handedly got our money’s worth from the fastpasses.
December 18th 2022: Donuts for my Deer! Her 9th birthday was wonderful!
January 2023: The first two Meemeows of Maia’s collection =)
January 2023: She got this dragon dress for Christmas and I adore it! She flies all over the house and leaps onto beanbags.
February 2023: We pass this truck and pecan farm nearly every day we go to swim, and Maia points out it looks just like the Weasley’s Ford Anglia. We finally stopped to get a pic and Maia was delighted that Fang was there as well. Well, a sweet dog to pet at least.
Valentine’s 2023: I planned a Puppy Love party for Maia’s class. It was the perfect theme for Maia, so I had to =)
March 2023: Maia took Finn to puppy class and he graduated!
March 2023: It was Maia’s turn to get a Cali trip with Daddy! She had a blast playing croquet, making food with Ann, and climbing ALL the high rocks.
April 2023: Silly Scents are still a fave!
Easter 2023: Lava Bunnies. Maia adores doing crazy poses on the yoga swing! Best purchase of all time!
May 2023: Maia got glasses! She wanted purple and she wanted cat’s eyes, and she got it! Soooo cute!
May 2023: Maia presented her research on the brain in Mrs. Onorato’s class. She asked me to make her hair look like a brain… I tried ;) It was really interesting research on how people remember things!
Medieval Fair 2023! Maia danced with Lady Jane, and she was so happy when she remembered her and called out greetings to Lady Maia later!
May 2023: I told Papa in passing I’d like to build something to hold a porch swing in the yard. And two weeks later he started digging! Maia was ALL IN. Shockingly we made it down 36 inches in one morning without hitting rocks or significant tree roots. As we were scooping out the last few inches of dirt, Dad said “Sweetheart, I don’t think you can reach far enough down to get the rest of the dirt.”
Maia says “Hold my juice box” 😂😂😂. There’s nothing she loves more than proving she CAN do something!
June 2023: Maia wanted to try shaving part of her head! It was so cute when it was first done but almost impossible to keep her wild hair from covering it, so probably not an experiment to repeat.
June 2023: Road trip to Colorado!Painted dog! Finally a dog Maia can touch 😂😂😂. There are so many dogs in Denver and she’s keeping track of how many I don’t let her pet 😂😜 We tracked down a painted dog exhibit. She is definitely missing Finn and wanted a dog from the gift shop. It was so cute when the painted dog popped his head up. We also got to see a hyena fed his bunny lunch!

July 2023: Sloomoo! Maia LOVED this slime museum, and talks about going back often! She makes tons of slime, both real and on her iPAD so it was right up her alley! She’s loved play-doh since she was a baby, and then kinetic slime, so she is all about it
Vaxholm 2023: Maia loved riding the boat out to the island of Vaxholm in Sweden! She loves swimming and it was fun to find a tiny beach we had almost to ourselves! Plus a dog owner let her watch his dog while he swam for a minute.
Sweden 2023: Maia SO badly wanted a turn at the forge, and the blacksmith returned just before we were planning on lunch. So lucky!
August 2023: You still never know where or how Maia will end up sleeping. I love when she arranges her stuffie collection, and having Sera’s old trundle bed set has increased her options dramatically. It’s adorable.
August 2023: Maia made ME an escape room for my birthday!!!!!!
Back to school 2023! 4th grade! I can’t believe it’s the last year of elementary school. Also, we’ve had Finn one whole year now!
September 2023: Maia the baker! She made puffskeins out of her Harry Potter baking book from the book fair… to try and convince me to buy another cookbook =) It worked. And was delicious!
Maia loves swimming! She took lessons from Miller and at the high school this year! She might tryout for the team! It will be a definite challenge, but she loves being in the water so it’s worth it regardless.
October 2023: Dress Like a Book Character Day! Fawkes! I love SO SO much that she chose a Snitch, Hedwig, and then Fawkes for her three book character days in elementary. She is the best!
Halloween 2023: Aphmau and Aaron =)
November 2023: Maia earned a horseback riding badge with Girl Scouts! She loved it so much she might want to do a riding camp next summer!
