Maia's 9th Birthday Update
My baby is nine years old!!! I am so lucky to be her Mama! She loves dogs passionately, especially her dog Finn, and she knows the names of most of the dogs in our neighborhood. She loves building stuff, especially with her Papa, and she is confident that she is strong and able to get things done! She still builds with legos too, which is a lot of fun for me too! She loves her siblings and often goes to snuggle with her sister in the morning when it’s time to wake her up. She loves books and math and her friends at school. She and her friend Leah often convince me it’s a good day for a playdate, and they have a blast together.
Maia December 2021
Maia January 2022: She and papa built a picnic bench for a squirrel! We saw it on Mark Rober’s squirrel Olympics video and she was sure Papa could help her figure out how to make her own. Purple of course. Still her favorite color! And look at all the tools she added to her Christmas toolbelt!
Maia February 2022: Cookbook fun! She loves cookbooks and occasionally goes on a kitchen spree =)
Maia March 2022: She still LOVES to color on herself. This was on the way to Girl Scouts. Such fun!

Bunny Hunt 2022: Hogwarts Escape Room!
Maia May 2022: She made this amazing keychain in Stem Lab, which she adores! It says Dictionary Princess, which is what her Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher nicknamed her. She also drew me this adorable picture for Mother’s Day!
Maia June 2022: Carmen Sandiego! On our way to Fantastico =)
Maia got to ride a dolphin!!! We all loved it but my animal loving girl was in heaven =)
Maia July 2022: A whole week at Girl Scout Camp! Cool Your Jets with Pets. She LOVED it!!! She got to train dogs, hold a snake and a ferret, and had so much fun.
July 2022: Puppy Quest! After Maia convinced Daddy she should have a dog with a very detailed poster presentation, Grandma found a breeder with blue merle shelties! We drove down to meet them, and in the car Maia kept going on about we could get a puppy, then we could get a girl puppy and have babies, and then she would build a room to hold all her puppies, it was like driving with two Diane Hales in the car!!!! She met Finn and fell in love! She was debating between Finn and Skye as two good Scottish names, but decided on Finn when she saw a little fin in his fur!

September 2022: Building a fence to keep her dog safe. Perfect Maia pic =)
Maia October 2022: She asked if she could have a Hedwig costume for dress like a book character day. Of course YES!!!
Halloween 2022. She found a Chewy costume for Finn. Halloween solved!
November 2022: Maia loved watching the Disney Zombies movies with me so much she asked for that as her birthday theme! We got her blue hair so she could be Alien Addison and she was SO CUTE! Still can’t believe I did a Zombie themed party but it was adorable and fun!

Maia December 2022: At Hogwarts! She got Slytherin robes and picked this adorable Pygmy Puff friend named Amethyst. She loved every minute of our time in Harry Potter world, and discovered she LOVES real rides!
She rode the Hippogriff 11 total times! This was after a mere 7. Eric joked that she single handedly got our money’s worth out of the Express Passes =)
December 18th 2022: Maia is nine! We celebrated the day with birthday donuts and furry fun! Maia got a deer onesie, and the deer hat she got from her dear friend Leah matched perfectly! We got her siblings silly hats like that since Maia loved it so much so they all got in on the fun! DZ got a wolf and Sera got a leopard. Maia declared herself prey and they chased her around the house. ;)

Maia got her own toolbelt for Christmas and she loves adding real tools to it! Papa is great at enabling this =)
Girl Scout Painting Badge! Maia loves Girl Scouts, and this was a fun badge. She was supposed to find something in the house to be inspired by. Most of the girls picked toys, or stuffed animals, but my girl picked the tile in the kitchen. Property Brothers addiction still going strong! I loved how this turned out, I keep it in my kitchen display shelf.

Maia LOVES graphic novels like Phoebe and her Unicorn and Big Nate. She loves to pull the whole pile off her shelf and read them all over and over again!
