Sera School Fall 2023

Sera is loving school this year! She has gone from struggling to turn in assignments to making high A’s in every class! She has worked so hard on her focus, and she loves the things she’s learning. The biggest surprise has been Oklahoma History. I thought she would be bored and hate that class, since it’s required, but the teacher involves current events and speaks so passionately that Sera is riveted. She adores the things she’s learning in Advanced Biology, which was described as the hardest class at JHS. She usually only gets homework in math, but she never minds fun math! She is physically writing SO much for her creative writing class. Her teacher is amazing and sends newsletters that really help parents feel connected to school, and she really looks out for Sera in lots of ways, from easing her into group work and respecting her needs to encouraging her writing. She’s always bubbled over with interesting ideas for stories but this is the first year she’s voluntarily written anything down.

Socially things are tougher, but she snuck her way into a drama party just to check it out. She went all by herself.

She sends me texts for pickup daily and includes her Bitmoji a lot. She is SO funny! I love her =)
