Hi.

Welcome!

Christmas at Hogwarts: The Setup

Christmas at Hogwarts: The Setup

Christmas at Hogwarts!!! I’m never topping this years cardboard plan  But this was the year all three of my kids listened to me read Harry Potter, they asked to dress up in wizarding gear for Halloween, and they’ve even been reading and writing Harry Potter fan fiction. So what else could I do?  They loved last years gingerbread houses and actually played with them all year, but they weren’t quite big enough to sleep in. So, thanks to Kelly Thienhardt Thorp and Michael Thorp I got refrigerator boxes this year! I had to build them in the attic and make them able to flatten because they don’t fit through the door

Packages piled on their beds like they do at Hogwarts

I got the patronus on Halloween clearance. I love the excuse to add to my collection! I’ve wanted a tree for upstairs forever!

The great hall has a dozen Christmas trees, and I found these adorable tiny trees at the dollar store, and added the floating candles. Eric and I moved our mattress up here so we could spend the night in Hogwarts too =) Fawkes and Hedwig from our Christmas Legos were the perfect touch!

Well, we managed to set up without waking anyone, although my fishing line got horribly tangled as we were putting up the letters. Now the hard part is trying to sleep when I can’t wait to see their reactions!

About a third of the letters are addressed to each kid, with sticker seals. There’s a train ticket from Tulsa to Hogwarts inside and a letter inviting them upstairs after breakfast. Otherwise they wouldn’t eat

Little owls to deliver the letters and wands from Ollivanders in everyone’s stockings
