January 2021: New Year's Clean Out
Happy New Year! We had a lovely, lazy winter break, and Serenity and I filled some of it with one of my favorite things. Organizing! New Years clean out! Serenity’s new shelves inspired us so we went through her room and trashed/donated/passed down about 8 trash bags of stuff! Her bookshelves are labeled by genre, I am ridiculously thrilled. .
I went on to organize and label a lot more things in the house. My label maker is still one of the most romantic presents Eric gave me ;) Eric told me at one point in this process I had to stop making trash because the bin overflowed.
It always gets worse before it gets better ;)
With Eric working from home for so long, plus the kids needing online school occasionally, it was time to seriously rethink the office and my closet! I gave away the desk, that took up way too much room and didn’t really work for the space, and passed the massage chair onto my brother since it didn’t really help Eric. We have all the empty floor space we need now to play wii games, and since the big reorganization we actually use this room to watch shows together too!

New desk in a color that looks pretty in the room, and doesn’t take up the whole corner! Room to dance! Plus I love the new picture arrangement on the wall!!! The basket below holds the switch.
We even went through all the electronics and labeled the extra cords!

Comfy chaise, in a fun green. I’ve always wanted a chaise! I wish this one was bigger, but that’s what you get for online furniture shopping. Still, it’s a pandemic, and we have gotten a lot of use out of it!
I also accepted the fact that none of my kids were going to learn to play the piano, and Mom actually wanted it back! The twins helped move it, and we use the space for this nice little online learning station for Serenity when they had to be online. Much better with an actual desk! She had been in the floor frequently, which she loved but made it difficult to be present for class formally.
Finally rehung all these pictures after DZ took down all the Batman stuff.
More January Memories: Going back to school felt like I was coming out of hibernation. Picking up Maia from school was my first time driving on a highway for nearly a month. And the sun was way too bright. I'm down to one unread e-mail in my g-mail account but still about 600 in my yahoo mail. I took winter break seriously I guess
Serenity January 15th: Anyone know a dance class or teacher for dancing like this? She loves making up random choreography and would love to know new moves to add... maybe I need to learn about TikTok...
January 28th: Poured cold water through my coffee grounds this morning. It’s not fair that you need the coffee in order to make the coffee.

Back to School!
We started playing tennis with Hatcher! It was a great social distance activity, and it gave Maia the chance to play at the park with Papa weekly. The boys loved the playground and actually getting to see each other, since they had to be separated because of Covid space requirements.
