December Daily Day 25: Christmas Day!

Christmas morning was wonderful fun!  The kids LOVED the cardboard theme for the year, and the sleigh actually worked!  I built it around the plasma car so it could be driven around.  I discovered when we set up Christmas Eve that we don’t have a Santa hat anymore, so I improvised one with a white hat, red scarf, and a snowball.  Eric still had his beard so he got to play Santa =)  So fun!

The kids were thrilled.  Serenity and DZ woke up first, but were very quiet until Maia opened her eyes.  They grabbed their stockings first.  Maia asked Santa for shoes (which was a little funny and a little embarrassing, she really did need shoes). 

The kids gave Eric Rice Krispie treats that they made, and Maia made a perler bead Azakvkvk. 

Serenity was thrilled with her presents.  She got new clay and a clay charm kit, a Scruff-a-luff which was a little kitten that comes in a fuzzy neglected little ball and you wash it and care for it.  It’s pretty cute.  She also got an Egyptology book she’d been longing for.  Oh, and Just Dance, a new game for the Wii. 

Donovan finally got a new umbrella.  After he left his last one outside he put another on his Amazon wish list but it sat there for so long I decided to get it for him =)  He also got his own Wild Kratts power suit.  He loved getting an entire set of Rainbow Magic Fairy books for his own collection.  He’s become quite a dedicated reader! 

Maia got legos that she built immediately, a Star Sapphire costume that she played in all day (and slept in) and a cool Wonder Woman invisible jet. 

After they had played with new toys for a while, I asked if anyone had noticed that the reindeer was made out of boxes.  I put their new electronic games in there!  These presents were all for them to share, but whichever box they opened they got to have the first turn with.  Each box also had a bag with two brand new skylanders in it.  We got them Skylanders Imaginators!  Donovan especially had wanted this for SO long!  Luckily he was the one who opened that one.  Serenity opened the new Osmo game, the Detective Agency.  She loved it!  Maia opened the Lego Snap Circuit kit.  So much fun!

Alex slept through the initial present frenzy, but when he woke up the kids were thrilled to get to hang out with him.  =)  Siqi arrived later that day and Eric finally had someone to play Spirit Island with!
