Summer July and August 2018
Jennie, Gavin and Corwyn came and we had an awesome Fourth of July at the Palfreyman’s. I even got to do an AR workshop with Jennie! So much fun!!!
Jennie and I got to do an AR workshop! I am addicted to these, SO fun!!!
While the kids were at camp one day, I decided to clean out the car and start preparing for our road trip. The vacuum got clogged with cereal twice. But the worst part was finding decaying chicken strips and curly fries from Arby’s in one compartment. I can’t remember the last time I got Arby’s. So when I picked up the kids, in preparation for epic lecture and nagging, I asked “kids, do you know what happens to food that is left sitting out?” I was all ready to describe in disgusting detail the decomposition process... when Serenity OPENS the compartment where I found the chicken!!!!! She KNEW it was in there!!!!! 🤢😱😂🤣🤦♀️. There are not enough emojis. Rotting chicken experiments. 🙄🤷♀️
We visit the pool often when it’s open, even if it’s just 20 minutes at the end of Eric’s work day. The kids improved so much with their swimming, especially Maia! By the end of summer she was swimming actual distances to us =)
DZ got to meet Baby Scarlett!
Serenity has been sorted into Ravenclaw =) She went with her friend Abby to Target for the new Harry Potter release!
They like to play Obstacles! Especially Maia =)
We ended summer with a trip up to Oklahoma City for Maggie’s birthday party and then our annual before school play day with the Richards. Abbey and I had fun organizing her beautiful new craft cabinets. We went to a great kids indoor playground, went shopping at the “Happy Mama” store (Hobby Lobby, this is what Everett calls it and it will forevermore be known thus.), ate Hideaway, and then Abbey and I decorated! We got to hang all the beautiful things from the Happy Mama store in her living room where her new couches will live. It was soooo much fun! So much fun in fact that we ended up staying another night so we could get it all hung up.

We had a ton of rain one week! The kids suited up and splashed around with Daddy!
We had some unusually cool days in August so we visited the botanical garden! Donovan and Serenity spent nearly an hour painting with water on the water wall, and making up their own imaginary worlds. Maia and I went through the sensory garden and loved it =)
This is Donovan and Maia’s favorite activity to do together right now. Building homes and traps out of Magformers for the Skylanders! Sometimes they add Lego Duplos!
