Easter Bunny Hunt

The Easter Bunny Hunt is one of our all-time favorite family traditions!  This year, we did photo clues using my little polaroid camera.  All three kids had fun figuring out their clues.  We took close up pictures of Winky all over the house and gave the kids a picture to start them off on their quest.  Maia loved it so much, she wanted to make her own bunny hunt using her Minnie Mouse Bunny.  They each have favorite bunnies actually.  Donovan loves the patchwork bunny, Maia loves the Minnie bunny.  Serenity loves her bunny Wisty from Build-a-Bear.  They ALL love Winky of course.   It was so much fun! In their Easter baskets they each got a magic wand.  They had seen it at Barnes and Noble and begged grandparents for it, but they weren’t sure it was really a good toy.  After I did some research at home, I was pretty sure it wasn’t worth the price at Barnes and Noble, but on Amazon it was about a third of that price so it made a great Easter basket surprise.  The wands had fairies or dragons that teach you spells to cast with the wand by flicking it up and down or left and right.   Maia also got a little Wonder Woman purse I couldn’t resist at Target.

In other Easter fun, we did egg hunts just in the yard.  I got new eggs, a set of 18 plus one golden egg.  I hid them all the first time (with a single gummy in each one so I didn’t have to police candy intake.)  Whoever found the golden egg got to do the next round of hiding.  This worked great!  Everyone got to find lots of eggs, and they loved finding good hiding spots.  And they got to play a lot more times than if I had to do all the hiding =)  We also got to see baby chicks at Aunt Jen’s house!  She has an incubator and grow lights so she had tons of baby chicks.  It was adorable. We colored eggs too, and I got a salad spinner thing so we could make tie dyed looking eggs.  SO fun!

We also went to the Easter event at the Tulsa Botanic Gardens.  I’m so glad we went!  The tulips and other bulbs are GORGEOUS this time of year!  And it was such a fun event!  They hid painted rocks, which the kids loved and they each kept one instead of trading it in for prizes.  We got to paint little wooden eggs on stands which turned out so beautiful!  They will be spring decorations for years!  And they had a little petting zoo and a planting activity.  Really, such a great event!
