We are having so much fun with our garden!!! One of Serenity's favorite activities right now is to go outside and give all the plants a drink! She even identifies them by name. "Give iris a drink! Give pansies a drink! Give maple tree a drink!" She never gets tired of watering, even when she is drenched and the flowers are drowning =) She has even pitched a fit or two when I try to tell her she's done enough, so now I just turn the water down very low and let her keep going =) She was very excited when a couple of our iris bloomed so now they get even more water and love.
I am excited that so far things seem to be growing! There are some itty bitty strawberries, and more blossoms on those plants. The cucumber, squash, and tomatillos have flowers even though their foliage does not seem particularly happy. The tomatoes look the same as when I put them in though. We'll see if we can keep them going. Mom and I got straw to mulch the beds so hopefully that helps keep them appropriately moist. Serenity loves to play with the straw and pulls it out of one bed and gives it to people or transfers it from one bed to the next. She had a blast at the feed store where we purchased it. They had baby chicks and ducks! She loved the ducks especially and quacked quite excitedly with them. "Quack! Quack quack quack quack. ...Guess what? Quack!!!!!" It was too funny, Mom and I were cracking up. =)
